What is your role within Learning Cog?

“I spent twenty-one years at Yellow Pages, eight in sales and thirteen in Learning & Development, delivering training in sales, customer service, management, leadership, and communication. For the last 11 years, I’ve run my own freelance training business, continuing that work across various industries and countries. Over the past four years, I’ve also become an Insights Discovery practitioner, and I now blend Insights into all areas of my training. I’m passionate about helping people and teams discover their full potential, and I genuinely believe Insights is absolute gold dust; it’s not just a work skill, it’s a life skill. As an Associate Trainer with LearningCog, I focus on delivering Insights sessions, especially the Foundation Day and Team Effectiveness work, but I also support with leadership, management, and sales training too.”

Describe your training style

“I truly believe people learn by doing – when they’re active, involved in discussions and exercises, and up on their feet. My style is engaging, interactive, and curious, with a coaching mindset. When questions come up, I don’t always give the answers, I’ll throw it to the group: What do you think? That sparks discussion and includes everyone. I aim to create a safe, supportive environment where people feel free to share ideas without fear of criticism. Most importantly, I want everyone to feel included, engaged, and have a bit of fun along the way.”

Who inspires you?

“On a personal level, my family. Especially my three daughters, they inspire me. They’re incredibly hardworking, independent, and resilient, and everything I do is ultimately for them. Professionally, I draw inspiration from Simon Sinek’s work, and from being part of Insight-focused communities like Ripple and Blue Canoe. A close friend of mine, Karen, is also a real inspiration, she works tirelessly and ensures that she is highly successful.”

Is there a quote that motivates you?

“I’ve got two that really resonate with me:

“Don’t stop when you’re tired, stop when you’re done.”

“It’s only when you look at things differently that the things you look at change.”

That second quote is especially meaningful within the Insights framework, reminding us that perception shapes reality, and that seeing things from other people’s perspectives is key to understanding and growth.”
